Registration step 2 of 4

How Does the Program Work?

This program will first help you determine if you're ready to quit. If you've already quit and are looking for some help – don’t worry - this program is designed to help you succeed.

Although the program will first assess if you're ready to quit, the exercises at the beginning of the program will help remind you of the reasons why you quit in the first place. Don't get frustrated - ex-smokers have told us that the exercises at the beginning of the program gave them confidence and helped them reaffirm their personal commitment to remain smoke free.

When you reach Milestone 4 you'll record your quit date. It doesn't matter if your quit date is today, a few weeks from now, or some time in the past.

Your Glove Compartment

As you complete each exercise in this program, your information will be stored in your Glove Compartment. You should refer to your Glove Compartment every now and then as it will contain new and helpful information as you progress through the program- information that will assist you with withdrawal symptoms and reminders of why you quit smoking in the first place.

This is what your Glove Compartment will look like in Milestone 6:

You will also be able to access the following tools from your Glove Compartment:

  • Posting Privileges for the Habitrol Support Group
  • The UNCW Stop Smoking Center Instant Messenger (so you can anonymously chat with other quitters)
  • The UNCW Stop Smoking Center Downloadable Quit Meter
  • The UNCW Stop Smoking Center Support Email Program
  • A Downloadable and Printable Copy of the Road to Success Workbook
